Some achievements belong to the whole team.
Team of DISCtinction inducts exceptional teams into the Florida Flying Disc Hall of Fame for what they accomplished together.
The team is inducted. Its members share that honor; individual Hall induction is a separate distinction.

Teams that shaped Florida Ultimate
From the first gatherings to the national stage, Florida teams have given generations a place to play—and a reason to believe. These are chapters in that history, not announcements of Team of DISCtinction selections.
1978 · Gainesville Green

Kevin Jones remembers Gainesville Green as a young team willing to travel wherever the game took them. His spring 1978 team photograph preserves an early chapter of Florida Ultimate.
1978 · A beginning for Florida women

At the University of Florida, women gathered during a five-team Ultimate event, organized an exhibition and invited others to join. A new community was taking shape.
1979 · Orlando Fling

Orlando Fling won the Southern championship in Gainesville and represented the region at the first five-region national championship.
1984 · Shakti on the national stage

Gainesville’s Shakti brought Florida women’s Ultimate to Nationals in the 1980s. This game against Andromeda captures the team in action in Santa Barbara.
Vicious Cycle · Gainesville

Gainesville’s Vicious Cycle carried that club tradition onto the world stage, competing at the 1993 World Ultimate Club Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
What earns a place in the Hall?
Team of DISCtinction recognizes exceptional shared achievements across Florida’s disc sports, including Ultimate, freestyle, performance and demonstration teams.
Competitive excellence

Pioneering achievement
A historic first or an innovation that advanced the sport.

One team. A defined chapter.
Each induction names the season or historical era being honored and documents its roster. A continuing team name does not extend the honor to every past or future lineup.
Roster members are recognized as members of an inducted Team of DISCtinction. A person may also earn Individual Induction through a separate selection.
Heritage and Spirit of Service are separate, non-induction Hall Honors.
