About Gregg Hosfeld

Gregg Hosfeld’s 2022 Florida induction biography begins in Sarasota, where meeting Jeff Watson in 1976 opened a wider world of disc sports. Hosfeld became involved in the city’s overall competition scene and won Florida freestyle titles with Scott Keating in 1981 and 1982. His Florida story connects a local community of versatile disc athletes with a career that reached international audiences.

His induction record identifies the 1987 PDGA Open world championship and Masters 50 world titles in 2008 and 2010 among his achievements. It also records a 2009 World Flying Disc Federation disc golf gold medal and titles in mini disc golf, doubles, and other formats. These are distinct competitions rather than a single undifferentiated world-title total.

Beyond competition, Hosfeld performed Frisbee demonstrations with school-assembly and touring groups, including the Air Aces, Spinning Bees, and Hero Disc in Japan. His induction biography also describes performances at comedy clubs, cruise ships, and theme parks, and his long service as a senior correspondent for Disc Golf World News.

In 2010 he cofounded World Champion Disc Golf Design. His induction biography recognizes course design alongside performance, competition, and writing as part of his contribution to the sport. He entered Florida’s Hall in the 2022 Sarasota class with Jeff Watson and Tim Willis.
